About Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum
World-renowned entrepreneur Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum was appointed Chairman of Al-Nasr Sports Club in 2009, further enriching his highly accomplished business career. As Chairman, Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum applies his prior experience in managing such distinguished enterprises as Dubai's Al Fajer Properties and the internationally successful A1 Grand Prix. Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum has expanded athletic opportunities for expatriate youth living in the United Arab Emirates and led Al-Nasr Sports Club to become the first UAE club with its own satellite cable channel.
Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum received his BSBA with honors from Boston's Suffolk University in 1999. His achievements since returning to his native Dubai include founding international auto-racing franchise A1 Grand Prix, unique in its focus on national teams instead of individual members, as well as its implementation of mechanically equal cars meant to reveal the talent of the drivers. Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum found global success with A1 Grand Prix, which quickly earned distinction as the “World Cup of Motorsport.”
Shortly after selling his position with A1 Grand Prix to a private equity firm in 2006, Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum became President of Al Fajer Properties, one of the United Arab Emirates' leading real estate development companies. Under the direction of Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum, Al Fajer Properties continues to establish superior commercial real estate, specializing in skyscrapers. The Jumeirah Lake Towers community is the company's most significant project to date, finishing several of the individual high-rise structures ahead of schedule. During the development process, Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum garnered a highly valuable partnership with European financier Kulczyk Investment House.
Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum was named Young Global Leader of 2007 by the World Economic Forum. In 2008, he received recognition by former French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin, who granted Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum the Young CEO of the Year award.
